Community involvement

Throughout the year, Portland Central School opens its doors to parents and community to come in and share special events and occasions with our students and staff.

This includes assemblies, open classrooms, Grandparents' Day, The Biggest Morning Tea, NAIDOC celebrations and our sporting carnivals.

Focus Groups

Portland Central School's Parent and Community Focus Groups are designed for parents, caregivers, teachers and community members who are interested in assisting us with school planning priorities.

These focus groups aim to bring together key stakeholders of our school and community to gather valuable insights and promote and strengthen relationships to ensure that students gain the maximum benefit from their time at Portland Central School.

Focus Group meetings are held throughout the year to align with the School Excellence Plan priorities.

LINC Portland Playgroup

Portland Central School is proud to host a playgroup facilitated by LINC, held every Monday during school terms from 10 am to 12 pm. Come along, meet new friends, and enjoy a welcoming environment for families and young children.

All families are welcome, and the playgroup is free to attend. Just bring:

a piece of fruit for morning tea
a water bottle
a hat.

Family events at our school
